This Organic Rosé from the winemaker's Hawke's Bay Soler Vineyard showcases summer provoking aromas of blood-orange, rosehip and watermelon. The palate is rich and moreish, finishing refreshingly dry.

The winemaker's key focus is to be environmentally responsible and to operate using sustainable practices in order to protect the land for future generations. Villa Maria has farmed organically since 2002 gaining Biogro certification in 2009. Their Organic vineyards are vibrant gardens alive with wildflowers and full of life. The Soler Vineyard is planted on free draining gravel soils well suited to applying organic farming principles.

The Hawke's Bay 2020 vintage followed a warm dry summer which extended well beyond the completion of harvest, ensuring superb conditions for ripening. Merlot grapes are harvested cool to protect the aromatics, gently pressed upon arrival at the winery and the resulting clear juice is fermented in stainless steel using selected Biogro approved yeast strains. The wine is then left on its yeast lees for a closely monitored period of time to build palate weight without compromising freshness.

Food Pairing: Best served chilled and enjoyed on warm summer days with a fresh alfresco fare. Particularly perfect with smoked salmon and seafood.
