Description

Dry, Oak, Spice

"It's delightfully fruited and expressed on the nose, showing poached pear, apricot, fig, and white floral aromas. The palate delivers succulent fruit intensity with fleshy texture and juicy acidity, making it delectable and highly enjoyable. At its best: now to 2027" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Feb 2025

Scale_-_Dry

"Aromas and flavours of apples and pears, there’s a tropical fruit finesse and a moment of white florals and lees adding complexity and charm. Crisp and just dry with core fruits flavours and a lick of residual sweetness - delivering a light satin-cream mouthfeel. Acidity keeps the palate refreshed as well as delivery key flavours of fruit and a touch of dried herb. Well made, balanced and ready to drink from 2025 through 2027" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier

This is a highly fragrant expression of Pinot Gris with aromas of ripe pear, exotic fruits and baking spices. The palate has rich fruit flavours, complex silky textures and juicy acidity to give length and persistence.

The grapes for this wine was sourced from a selection of vineyards in the Awatere Valley of Marlborough.

Low rainfall over winter and cooler weather at flowering resulted in reduced crop yield for the 2024 harvest. The growing season progressed with Marlborough's classic dry conditions, warm days and cool nights. The idyllic weather and low crops produced pristine grapes with concentrated flavours and fresh acidity.

The fruit was harvested in cool night-time temperatures to retain freshness. The clear juice was then inoculated with select aromatic and textural yeast strains. Fermentation was cool and controlled to promote bright aromatic expression. The wine matured on its yeast lees for a closely monitored period of time to develop a complex creamy texture before blending, finishing and bottling.

Food Pairing: Enjoy chilled with an antipasto platter.
