Description

  • Dry style
  • Peach & lemon
  • Subtle spice
  • Medium-bodied

"Rich, weighty wine—shut your eyes and you would easily imagine that it is a red wine. It has the weight and mouth-feel and savoury flavours of a red, although the fresh acidity points to white. Good drinking and well-priced" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Aug 2022

"Pale lemon/green, it is a fresh, lively, medium-bodied wine, with very good depth of peachy, lemony, slightly spicy flavours and a dry, persistent finish. Enjoyable young" Michael Cooper

Arneis is a grape variety native to Piedmont in northern Italy. The direct translation of Boja Fauss from Piedmontese is False Executioner but is used as an exclamation akin to Godamnit! A remark likely used many times when cultivating Arneis, which translates from Piedmontese as Little Rascal!

The Arneis grapes for this wine were handpicked from a pristine vineyard in Clevedon, South Auckland, that once belong to radio celebrity Leighton Smith.

The grapes were gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks under cool conditions with select yeasts to produce a pure, crisp, refreshing wine with fresh fruity perfume and lovely mineral texture.

Food Pairing: A great refreshment on its own but also with shellfish, antipasto and classic Mediterranean dishes.
