Two Rivers Juliet Marlborough Riesling 2021

Aromas of Tahitian lime, honeysuckle and nougat are mixed with slightly spicy and savoury cashew nut notes. The palate is delicate and pure with a beautiful pithy texture, orange blossom and ripe citrus flavours. This super textural riesling has great palate weight and lovely fruit sweetness which adds great mouthfeel without being cloying.

The riesling grapes were grown at their Brookby Hill & Jomara vineyards in the Southern Valleys.

Crops were significantly reduced due to early spring frosts and a cold, wet flowering period. Summer was incredibly dry and this lead to a very early harvest. The resulting fruit quality was outstanding and wines from the 2021 vintage might just be exceptional.

The fruit was hand harvested and partially whole bunch pressed. The cool fermentation was stopped when the sweetness and acidity were in perfect balance. The wine then rested on fine lees for two months to gain texture and palate weight. The acidity, texture and minerality of this wine interplay harmoniously.

Juliet Riesling is named after David Clouston’s mother who adores Riesling.
