Triplebank Marlborough Pinot Noir 2024
A generous Pinot with silky tannins
A generous Pinot with silky tannins
Description
Cherry, Oak, Plum
This vibrant Triplebank Pinot Noir has lifted aromas of blueberry, raspberry and liquorice coupled with hints of anise and earthy forest. On the palate the fresh raspberry, cherry and plum flavours carry through, supported by a generous texture with silky tannins and hints of savoury oak. The concentration of flavours leads to a long satisfying finish. Very approachable now this wine will also gain depth and complexity over the next 1-4 years.
In the more southern Awatere Valley, the soils are composed of three distinct layers: a thin semi-fertile soil, a middle layer of river stones and shingle, and all underpinned by an impervious mudstone layer that effectively prevents the roots of the vines from penetrating further and hence controls the vine’s vigour.
Now, this land produces pungent grapes that reflect the raw nature of Marlborough’s wildest valley with the vivid flavours captured in every bottle of Triplebank wine. Our winemaking philosophy is to capture and accentuate the essence of what has proved to be a distinctive winegrowing area.
Food Pairing: The richness of this Pinot Noir makes it well suited to a variety of meat or game dishes, particularly where savoury flavours abound. This complete wine will pair well with a rich dishes such as braised beef cheeks served on parmesan polenta scattered with sautéed mushrooms.
