Dark cherry red with purple highlights. Intense aroma of red and black fruit (blackberry and raspberry) with subtle undertones of licorice. Delicate, jammy, and persistent on the palate.
Made from carefully selected vineyards, this iconic wine has stayed true to its incomparable personality since the first vintage in 1954.
The 2019 vintage saw a decrease in crop production compared to the year previous due to a lack of rainfall during the growth season. As a result, the vineyards welcomed the rain storms brought in by a cold front in late August, because the benefits outweighed the damages.
Food Pairing: Excellent with meat and tomato-sauce-based dishes. It is also a perfect match for creamy cheeses. Serve at 14–15°C.
