Torres Sangre de Toro Original Garnacha 2020 (Spain)
Exquisite berry flavours with delicate acidity
Exquisite berry flavours with delicate acidity
Description
- American & french oak
- Strawberry
- Black pepper spice
- Delicate acidity
Dark cherry red colour. Exquisite red fruit (strawberry) aroma with a note of spices (black pepper). Warm and firm on the palate, with delicate acidity.
Made from carefully selected vineyards, this iconic wine has stayed true to its incomparable personality since the first vintage in 1954.
The 2020 vintage saw an earlier harvest due to climate conditions. After a relatively dry winter, the growth season began with abundant rainfall and milder temperatures, which caused significant outbreaks of downy mildew in certain areas. Merlot was among the most affected varieties. The summer was generally dry with moderate temperatures and only a handful of really hot days in July. Even though fruit maturation was early, most varieties attained optimal ripeness. Crop production was down significantly, but, in spite of everything, the harvest brought in healthy grapes thanks to favorable climate conditions during the ripening period.
Food Pairing: Pairs perfectly with meat stews, game, and food prepared with spices. A great match for meat paellas and medium-aged cheeses. Serve at 15–17ºC.
