Exquisitely lively & loaded with zing!
Description
Dry
"The wine shows lovely ripe fruit characters of peach and mango with herbaceous notes. The palate is nicely expressed with a juicy mouthfeel and good intensity. A vibrant bubbly with attractive Sauvignon flavours" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
Loaded with zing this sparkling wine is made using Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. It has a lively nose with herbaceous notes and hints of passionfruit and citrus. Sip and enjoy flavours of gooseberries, passionfruit and lime with a medium dry finish and excellent balance.
Bud burst occurred in early October followed by warm and settled weather. Warm, dry weather continued into January and February with almost no rain, enabling winemakers to hang the fruit until optimal ripeness was achieved. Harvested fruit was some of the cleanest and most delicious seen in many years from the Omaka, Awatere and Wairau Valleys of Marlborough.
The grapes were harvested in the cool of the early morning to preserve their flavour then de-stemmed, crushed and lightly pressed with minimal skin contact. The clear juice was then fermented at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks using selected yeast strains to preserve the inherent fruit flavours and aromas. Following fermentation, the wine was left on light lees to enhance texture and complexity for 6 months before blending, carbonation and bottling.
Food Pairing: This wine needs to be chilled and taken on your next picnic. Whatever the occasion, it is great to share with friends!
Closure: Zork - releasable and keeps wine fresh and drinkable for up to 1 week without going flat!
