Description

Cherry, Liquorice, Oak

"It's splendidly ripe and fragrant on the nose, showing blackcurrant, dried herb, game, and roasted almond aromas, leading to a beautifully weighted palate delivering a supple mouthfeel and elegant structure. Tannins are chalky and finely integrated; it's beautifully composed and styled for charming drinking" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jun 2026

"Deep red core with garnet hues and bright red rime lead to a bouquet of cinnamon and vanilla spiced plums, a layer of wood smoke and stony clay earth then blackberry, dried herb and tobacco leaf. A dry wine with a firm texture, fine grained tannins and medium+ acid line. Dark berries and plum, some smoke and earth flavours, mushroom and stone. Well made, easy oak and medium+ length. Best drinking from day of purchase through 2032" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, May 2026

Ruby red and intense color with violet. Intense nose with a core of warmed black currant, black cherry coulis supported by singed vanilla accents. Mouth filling palate, there is a spine of velvety tannins and fresh acidity. Lingering
finish with oak and sweet spices notes.

This wine is the ultimate homage to Thomas Barton who came to Bordeaux from Ireland in 1725. He quickly became the most important wine merchant in Bordeaux having built a solid reputation among faithful customers all over Europe, who recognized his expertise and know how. The spirit of Thomas Barton has been perpetuated in this prestigious wine. The packaging reflects the classic elegance of the 18 th century: a typical “flacon bordelais ” bottle a short capsule a long cork and a sober label mentioning the name of the shipper and the appellation.

Food Pairing: : Tuna in red wine sauce, beef steak “Bordelaise” grilled on vine stalks, Pyrenees cheese with dark cherry marmalade.
