Description
Cherry, Herbal, Spice
"A lighter weighted expression with a developing bouquet of apple and red cherry, autumnal leaves and earthy tones of clay and some limestone. A complex wine too with layers of wood smoke and spices, dried herb and a meaty tobacco quality. Enticing and complete. A dry wine touches the palate with an immediate rush of flavour and texture, plums and preserved cherries, red apple skin and violets, clay earth and baking spices of clove and vanilla. AN abundance of fine tannins and medium+ (ish) acidity adds mouthfeel and length. Well made with a medium+ finish, best drinking from day of purchase through 2030" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier
"Moderately light ruby-red with a slight brick hue, even colour throughout. The nose is gentle and fragrant, with aromas of cranberry, cherry, rosehip, and savoury herb and earthy elements. Medium-light bodied, with aromas of cranberry and red cherry melded with dried rosehip and herb, leading to an earthy, spiced finish. The wine is slowly opening up, showing a savoury core, adorned with haunting nuances. Fragrant, black tea-like tannins extend to a dry, elegant finish. Match with smoked duck and pork terrine over the next 3+ years" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews
Bright red berry and cherry flavours flow through a silky, elegant palate, with subtle spice and savoury complexity. Fine tannins and fresh acidity bring balance and length, making this an effortlessly drinkable North Canterbury Pinot Noir.
