"Moderately light ruby-red, even colour throughout. The nose is youthful and gently full, with aromas of blackberry, cherry, spice and gamey hints. Medium-bodied, aromas of blackberry and cherry entwined with cinnamon, nutmeg and gamey hints. The fruit is succulent, supported by salivating acidity. The Duke of Cromwell, produced by Nevis Bluff Wines, has a strong sense of place, rich and ripe but with a strong mineral thread. Aromatically this wine has ripe red currant, dark chocolate, violet and spicy on the nose leading to a soft elegantly textured palate.
