Description
- Red summer fruit
- Lifted florals
- Savoury notes
- Round & silky
"Immediately fruity, youthful, fresh and varietal with aromas of fresh red cherries, dark roses, forest berries and sweet cranberry. Dry, crisp, red fruit flavours, quite mineral with a river stone and clay suggestion. Fine tannins, little to no oak and a fresh, clean, satin textured finish. A lower alcohol wine at just 9.5% - a really lovely example" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Nov 2020
Full of bright, red summer fruits with lifted floral notes, followed through by a rich palate with dark cherry, raisins and a nutty, savoury undertone. Impecabbly structured, deliciously round and silky.
This Pinot Noir is produced from our North and Middle Wairau Valley vineyards, planted over 20 years ago - very special sites composed of alluvial river terrace soils, crushed stones and clay. Simply put, we’ve perfected a delicious full flavoured wine by slowing the grape plant’s ability to make sugar but not its ability to make flavour. And it’s all done in the vineyard. No chemistry tricks or genetic engineering wizardry here. Just sustainably grown, naturally produced lower alcohol wine.
Food Pairing: Perfect to drink on its own or with savoury dishes.
