Mellow & flowing with complex flavours
Wine Orbit
Description
- Dark cherry
- Floral notes
- Nuttiness
- Round & silky
"It is gently lifted on the nose showing dark cherry, strawberry, olive and dried herb characters, leading to a juicy palate that is light and smooth. The wine offers sweet berry flavours together with elegant savoury notes, finishing pleasingly dry. It is mellow and flowing with complex flavours" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Apr 2019
Full of bright, red summer fruits with lifted floral notes, followed through by a rich palate with dark cherry, raisins and a nutty, savoury undertone. Impecabbly structured, deliciously round and silky
This Pinot Noir is produced from the North and Middle Wairau Valley vineyards, planted over 20 years ago - very special sites composed of alluvial river terrace soils, crushed stones and clay. Simply put, the winemakers have perfected a delicious full flavoured wine by slowing the grape plant’s ability to make sugar but not its ability to make flavour. And it’s all done in the vineyard. No chemistry tricks or genetic engineering wizardry here. Just sustainably grown, naturally produced lower alcohol wine.
Food Pairing: Perfect to drink on its own or with savoury dishes.
