Te Mata Estate Vineyards Hawke's Bay Chardonnay 2019
Stylish, complex & modern
Stylish, complex & modern
Description
- Lush stone fuit
- Grapefruit
- Sea salt
- Smoky French oak
White gold in the glass, Estate Vineyards Chardonnay ’19 has the immediate refreshing appeal of ripe nectarine and lemon sorbet edged with sea-salt, roast almond and just a hint of smoke from French oak. The lush toastiness and crisp palate, with notes of mango, grapefruit, and pineapple, lead to a long, fine, fruit-driven finish. Classically Hawke’s Bay, Estate Vineyards Chardonnay ’19 is a stylish, modern Chardonnay with intensity, complexity and charm.
Estate Vineyards Chardonnay ’19 will continue to evolve in bottle for two to four years from harvest.
The grapes for Estate Vineyards Chardonnay ’19 were harvested between 14 and 22 March 2019 from Te Mata Estate’s own vineyards in the Woodthorpe Terraces, Havelock Hills and Bridge Pa Triangle sub-regions of Hawke’s Bay. Estate Vineyards Chardonnay ’19 combines the best of traditional and modern winemaking. This involved tank fermentation to preserve the vibrant varietal aromas and clear, fresh fruit expression along with some barrel fermentation, barrel maturation on gross lees, and malolactic fermentation to enhance the complexity, richness and integration.
Estate Vineyards Chardonnay ’19 is delicious on its own, or a wonderful partner for both simply prepared and fuller flavoured seafood, and white meat dishes
