Te Mata Estate Hawke's Bay Pinot Noir 2025
Immense charm alongside immediate drinkability
Immense charm alongside immediate drinkability
Description
Cherry, Oak, Redcurrant
Bright ruby with a youthful purple hue, Estate Pinot Noir ’25 is instantly lifted and inviting, with ripe red and black cherries, raspberry and strawberry fruit, all layered with enticing notes of clove, thyme and rosemary. The palate is generous and fruit-forward, bursting with appeal, and supported by smooth, mouth-coating tannins. Fresh acidity keeps everything lively with notes of nori and pink peppercorn in the wine’s long, dry, savoury finish. Plush and approachable, Estate Pinot Noir ’25 shows off an immense charm alongside immediate drinkability.
Sourced exclusively from Te Mata Estate’s own vineyards, the estate wines represent the best qualities of their variety, vintage, and Hawke’s Bay origin. Estate Pinot Noir ’25 was harvested between 25 and 26 February 2025 from Te Mata Estate’s own Woodthorpe Terraces vineyard in the upper Dartmoor Valley.
The individual lots were each destemmed, cold soaked followed by a traditional plunged fermentation. The resulting wines underwent extended maceration on skins before pressing. The separate wines were then run to a mixture of new and seasoned French oak barriques for 11 months’ maturation.
Food Pairing: Estate Pinot Noir ’25 pairs with herb roasted duck breast with cherry and thyme jus or a wild mushroom and thyme risotto. Estate Pinot Noir ’25 will continue to develop in bottle for six years from harvest.
