Gorgeously fruited & complex

Gorgeously fruited & complex
Wine Orbit
Description
Almond, Cherry, Oak
"It’s gorgeously fruited and complex on the nose showing dark cherry, plum, cake spice and toasted almond characters with a hint of gamey complexity. The palate delivers lovely weight and succulent fruit intensity, together with a fleshy mouthfeel and savoury nuances, finishing long and expansive" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
"Deep ruby-red with a garnet undertone, lighter on the rim. This has a calm, broody expression, with aromas of dried herbs, lifted floral, dark cherry, black raspberry, spice and a hint of game. Medium-full bodied, aromas of cherry and black raspberry entwined with black pepper, nutmeg and cinnamon, dried floral and game. Tightly bounded tannins left a light grip and fine structure; broody dark herb and spice carried by lacy acidity extended a fragranced, sustained finish. This enticing Pinot Noir possesses a cherry and black raspberry core, ample spice and floral fragrances and a tightly-weaved tannin mouthfeel" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, Nov 2022
"This ripely scented, full-bodied red was estate-grown at Pisa, in the Cromwell Basin. Matured for 18 months in French oak casks, it has full, fairly youthful colour. A powerful style, it is sweet-fruited, with generous cherry, plum and spice flavours, a hint of liquorice, considerable complexity, fresh acidity and a good tannin backbone" Michael Cooper
"Fermented using 35% whole-bunches. Expressively pungent aroma and is more closed on the palate thanks to fine and moderately firm tannins. Floral and spice characters dominate, with an undercurrent of dried herbs and restrained cherry and berry flavours. Promises to age well" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review
Tankersley Estate Vineyard is nestled between the rocky outcrops of the Pisa mountain range and the shores of Lake Dunstan in Central Otago, New Zealand. The soils are some of the oldest in New Zealand, and they give this Pinot Noir its great density.
The Vineyard was established at the turn of this century and exclusively planted with Pinot Noir, to capture what Central Otago has become world-famous for.
