Description
Dry, Jalapeño, Passionfruit
"Complex and enticing bouquet of fresh lemon and apple, fine lees complexity and tropical fruit moments laced with fresh green herbs and pineapple. Crisp, dry, detailed and fruity, flavours mirror the bouquet led by the tropical and lemon then lees and herbs. Acidity is saline and salivating, some very fine fruit tannins and acidity along with lees impacts deliver a lush and textured mouthfeel. Balanced and well made with a long finish. Best drinking from 2023 through 2029" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, nov 2023
"Punchy, aromatic, silken-textured Sauvignon Blanc with tropical fruit/passionfruit, cut grass, lime/citrus, lemongrass and oyster shell flavours supported by vibrant acidity. Bright, fresh wine in a classically Marlborough style" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Aug 2023
"Full of youthful vigour, the intensely varietal 2023 vintage (4.5*) is an auspicious debut. A pale, aromatic, medium to full-bodied wine, it has fresh, penetrating, green capsicum-like flavours, vague salty notes, and a crisp, dry, persistent finish. (From a company linked to Man O' War.) Good value" Michael Cooper, Dec 2023
The 2023 is our inaugural release of our Swiftsure Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Bursting with aromas; an abundance of tropical fruits, crisp citrus, punchy jalapeño, and fresh herbs this wine showcases the intensity that has made Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc famous the world over. The palate is refined and classical with a vibrancy of fruit and a mineral purity that creates a sense of sophistication and elegance. Swiftsure is a pure expression of both Sauvignon Blanc and place, a wine to transport your senses to a land of beauty.
On a crisp and cool morning in the heart of New Zealand wine country, the Marlborough harvest was at its peak. Our Sauvignon Blanc was harvested from our Southern Coast Vineyard which lies in one of Marlborough’s southernmost regions, was machine harvested and transported immediately to the winery. Fresh juice, gently pressed and delivered to stainless tanks underwent a long cool fermentation, heady aromas of Sauvignon Blanc filled the winery.
On completion of fermentation blending options were assessed and the wonderfully fresh herb and citrus characters of the Southern Coast Vineyard were complemented with passionfruit and the richness of the Waihopai Valley.
