Description

  • Lightly oaked
  • Yellow nectarine
  • Nougat & vanilla
  • Honeydew & rockmelon

"Youthfully charming and delightfully expressed, the wine shows white flesh nectarine, rockmelon, nougat and vanilla characters with subtle roasted nut complexity on the nose, leading to a succulent palate that is beautifully rounded and creamy. It is long and supple on the finish with gorgeous fruit intensity" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Sep 2019

Golden in colour, this Chardonnay brings succulent yellow nectarine and honeydew melon aromas. The palate is rich and luscious in a lightly oaked style.

Fruit was selected from premium Marlborough Chardonnay growing areas of Dog Point, Omaka Valley, Brancott Valley and Rapaura Road. Careful canopy management was used to promote dappled exposure. Sustainable vineyard practices were used from accredited vineyards.

Winemakers enjoyed perfect flowering conditions and January was one of the warmest on record. February delivered some rain and March provided extended dry periods and high sunshine hours. The fruit ripened nicely on the vines, earlier than normal, and we had clean, ripe and intensely flavoured fruit come harvest in April.

A selection of machine harvested and hand picked fruit was pressed and then sent to either barrel or tank for ferment. A selection of yeast and ferment temperatures was used to create exciting wines to blend together. 35% was barrel fermented and/or aged in a combination of New and seasoned oak.
