Rich & smooth with soft silky tannins

Description

Oak, Plum, Raspberry

A vibrant Pinot Noir with lifted cherry characters and subtle hints of red berries. The palate is defined by a smooth texture and rich mouthfeel, supported by fine, silky tannins. Layers of fruit and gentle spice lead into a rich, lingering finish that showcases both elegance and depth.

At the start of the growing season conditions were warm, with sufficient rain events to ensure strong vine growth. December’s temperatures were well above average, leading to early flowering and excellent fruit-set. January turned cold, slowing the ripening of the fruit. Fortunately, February, March and April saw a return to warmer weather with little rain, helping the ample yields reach peak ripeness in optimum condition.

A portion of the fruit was hand-picked and was plunged in small open vats until completion of the ferment. The remainder of the fruit was machine picked and fermented in stainless steel tanks. The ferment was pumped over once a day with temperatures of up to 32 degrees being reached to extract the colour and tannins for the backbone of the wine. The wine was pressed off just before completion of fermentation and transferred into oak where it aged in one and two-year-old French oak barriques for eight months before being blended and bottled.
