Citrus, melon and brioche aromas on the nose. Succulent, lithe and restrained.

1 x Quarter Acre Hawke's Bay Chardonnay 2020

Flinty gun smoke with ripe peach and nectarine on the nose with underlying fresh biscuit and popcorn tones. Rich and textural with baked pear and peach flavours. A strong mineral drive with gorgeous weight and a lovely long finish.

1 x Margrain Rivers Edge Martinborough Pinot Noir 2018

The wine smiles demurely from the glass sporting a beautiful red-liquorice hue. The nose is led by sweet peach chutney, grilled red capsicum and folded white chocolate. Chewy black current jam, caramelised prune and dried fig give luscious fruity notes while rich Bisto gravy and rubbed totara fire-sticks impart a smoky complexity. Warm pumpkin pie sprinkled liberally with nutmeg fleshes out the nose which finishes with an intriguing earthy aroma like a fragrance by Issey Miyake. The palate is warm and wet and nuzzles up like a dog on the couch during a late-night movie. It has a generous mouthfeel and the silky smooth texture of fluffy rabbit hair combined with a zig-zagging tenacity which see-saws across the tongue and needles away like a 2 fingered typist. Rich blackberry dripping from the vine, raspberry drop and blueberry too lend a succulence and compliance which is reined in only slightly by chunky chopped almonds, aubergine skin and notes of a beef shin reduction. Blue chip tannins dance on the spot, jabbing left and right with a long reach while far from the shallow, restrained acidity contributes subtly to a sweet/sour indulgence.

"Sweetly ripe and spicy at the same time, it's beautifully fragrant on the nose showing dark cherry, plum, olive, cumin and almond notes, leading to a succulent palate delivering ripe fruit intensity combined with plump mouthfeel and fine tannins, making it flavoursome and immediately appealing. Bright, vibrant dark red fruits on the nose with sweet cardamom and cinnamon spice. Warm and rich on the palate with boysenberry, plum and dark roasted spices. Fresh and lively palate that finishes long and fine with just a hint of toasty oak.

1 x Man O' War Estate Waiheke Island Blend 2019

The Island Blend 2019 is brooding on the nose with blackberry, bramble, black tea and a touch of Provence herbs. The palate is medium bodied with red berry fruits, a touch of black olive and graphite on the finish with a light hint of oak and pepper spice on the finish. The 2019 Island Blend is a well structured wine and a wine to enjoy fresh in its youth as well as a wine worth ageing.

1 x Red Metal Hawkes Bay Merlot Cabernet Franc 2020

Deeply coloured, with ripe plum and black fruit flavours along with a deft seasoning of oak and soft tannins. A blend of 98% Merlot lifted with a touch of Cabernet Franc and Syrah for lifted floral aromatics. Soft, food friendly and hugely drinkable now, but with the weight and concentration to cellar for 5-8 years if you must.
