Dark berry fruits combine with a lively palate entwined with pepper spices and chocolate tones. A long savoury finish is coated in soft tannins to complete this rich and generous palate.

Red-brown loam over shale and red clay vineyards in the South and Central Barossa Valley enable them to create wine parcels of generosity of flavour, length and texture.

Good winter rains in July and August preceded a warm and dry spring with no frosts or storms. Budburst and shoot growth were strong with average bunch numbers showing across most varieties, followed by ideal weather through flowering which set up good crop potential. Ripening was very steadily paced throughout which made for an accommodating vintage. Barossa Valley Shiraz yields were slightly higher than average, and all the wines show intense colour and flavour with robust tannins.

Shiraz has delivered an exciting array of styles from vibrant flavoursome wines through to rich and complex styles with great texture and cellaring potential.
