Wine Orbit
Description
- Subtle oak
- Ripe peach
- Balanced fruit
- Rich & creamy
"Fruit forward and attractively fragrant, the wine shows apricot, rockmelon, Gala apple and subtle nougat notes on the nose. It's succulent and supple on the palate, displaying lovely rounded mouthfeel together with creamy texture, offering delightful drinking" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Dec 2020
The abundant sunshine from one of the best harvests ever has produced this dry creamy textured medium bodied wine, full of ripe peachy characters with subtle oak flavours balancing the fruit. Ideally suited to richer food and sauce dishes.
Flavour, flavour, flavour that is the 2020 harvest. Small batch techniques involving barrel fermentations with indigenous yeast as well as stainless tanks have been used in the making of this ripe and rich Chardonnay. While in barrels and tanks the wine is constantly hand stirred keeping the yeast cells in suspension, this is done to add a creamy character to the wine that is often found in good Chardonnays. This is a must try wine from one of the harvests of a lifetime in the Waipara Valley.
Food Pairing: Creamy vegetarian egg plant with bean pie or a saucy rich chicken or pork dish.
