Satyr Kereru Hawke's Bay Chardonnay 2023
Ripe, generous & complex
Ripe, generous & complex
Description
Nectarine, Oak, Vanilla
Bright pale straw in appearance, this handcrafted Chardonnay exhibits classic varietal characters of ripe nectarine, tangelo and subtle lime citrus notes with a neatly woven thread of toasty oak adding vanilla and spice to the nose. The palate is generous, ripe and complex but retains a zesty line of acidity that keeps the wine fresh and provides structure to support a long and satisfying finish.
New Zealand’s iconic native wood pigeon and the name of the road leading to our flagship Chardonnay vineyard.
Chardonnay is sourced from Sileni’s Hawke’s Bay vineyards with a range of soil types including gravels, silt and clay loam. The different characteristics of these sites provide depth and complexity of flavour in the wines.
Kererü Chardonnay is harvested and pressed, thenfermented with French oak to develop complex layers of flavour in a traditional Burgundian style. Following primary and malolactic fer-mentation, ageing on yeast lees was carried out to ma-ture and soften the wine prior to bottling.
Food Pairing: Fish, poultry and pasta with a light creamy sauce.
