Description
Dry, Pear, Vanilla
"It's delightfully fruited and elegantly expressed on the nose with white flesh stone fruit, Nashi pear, subtle spice and jasmine aromas. The palate is equally charming with excellent focus and linear mouthfeel, well supported by bright acidity. Gorgeously styled and composed for attractive drinking. At its best: now to 2026" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Aug 2023

Beautiful aromas of vanilla poached pear and white blossom upfront with supporting notes of lychee, candied ginger and gentle baking spices. A concentrated palate has bright flavours of pear that bounce off a long lush mid-palate. An elegant acid line gives the wine energy and a long balanced finish.
Our 2023 Pinot Gris is comprised of fruit from our Wairau and Awatere Valley vineyards. The Wairau Valley contributes bright aromatics and a lush blend of fruit characters. The Awatere Valley adds the crisp acidity and distinct minerality that is unique to the Marlborough region.
Marlborough is New Zealand’s premier wine growing region located at the north-eastern tip of the South Island. Reputed as one of the top viticultural areas in the world, Pinot Gris from Marlborough is known for its distinctive aromatics, complex flavours and bright acidity.
Russian Jack is a Kiwi Legend. Originally from Latvia, his thick accent earned him the nickname ‘Russian Jack’ when he arrived in New Zealand in 1912. He spent most of his life travelling the country on foot picking fruit, clearing scrub and befriending locals. He was honoured with a bronze statue after his death in 1968. Russian Jack wines are an ode to the hard work of ‘swaggers’ like him who we have to thank for some of our great vineyards today.
Food Pairing: Pairs well with Asian dishes, washed rind cheese, or try pan seared scallops with a fresh mango salsa.
