"Gorgeously ripe and fragrant, the enticing bouquet shows blackberry, vanilla, hazelnut and mixed spice aromas, followed by a generously expressed palate offering terrific fruit power and persistency. It's smooth and mouthfilling" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Apr 2021
Deep purple in the glass. Dark chocolate and black cherry aromas with notes of boysenberry, white pepper and cloves on the nose. Plush dark fruit and chocolate flavours with fine grain tannins.
A cool winter with lighter than average rainfall set the scene for the 2019 vintage. This mild and dry weather through the growing season produced grapes with great flavour concentration. The summer was full of sunshine and warm dry weather, which resulted in small berries and was great for ripening the grapes. The resulting Tempranillo is a wine of structure and intense flavour.
Fermentation with yeasts indigenous to the vineyards was followed by malolactic fermentation and maturation in new and mature Hungarian oak barrels. Our aim has been to showcase the stylish fruit flavours and lovely tannins of Tempranillo complimented by very subtle oak.
Food Pairing: Chorizo and roast capsicum pizza, garlic and chilli mushrooms on vegan puff pastry.
