Description
Dry, Pear, Spice
"Bright, even, pale straw yellow. The nose is gentle, with rich aromas of honey suckle, pear, apple and white spice. Full-bodied, dry-ish to taste, with aromas of apple, pear, cardamon and honeysuckle. The fruit is juicy, broadened by a touch of sweetness, lively acidity drives with spice to a refreshing finish" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, Sep 2025

"The elegantly expressed bouquet shows green rockmelon, Asian pear, Gala apple, and subtle spice aromas, followed by a fruit-forward palate that’s succulent and supple. Well-rounded and smooth with a lingering, juicy finish. At its best: now to 2027" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Sep 2025
"Aromas and flavours of red apple and brown pear, there’s a honeysuckle quality, some tropical fruit ideas and wet river stone mineral suggestions. Fresh, crisp and just dry with a tickle of residual sweetness, contrasting acid line and balanced even finish. Best drinking from day of purchase through 2027" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier
Beautiful aromatics of freshly picked pear with crisp red apple fruits. Luscious and fresh with notes of juicy golden pear, baked pastry and soft spices with a flavoursome off-dry finish.
The fruit was selected from vineyards in Marlborough's Wairau Valley and Southern Val ley subregions. Each vineyard's yield was carefully managed and fruit monitored throughout the entire 2025 growing season by Heather and the team.
During a cool evening, the vineyard was machine harvested and the grapes swiftly brought to the winery where they were destemmed and pressed. The free run juice was cold settled prior to fermentation in small stainless steel tanks. A small portion went through malolactic conversion to add softness and texture. After a warm control led fermentation, the wine was left on lees with gent le stirring, enhancing the varietal characteristics, prior to delicate blending. Minimal fining and handling before filtration and bottling ensures this Pinot Gris shows a true expression of the grape variety.
