Petal & Stem Marlborough Rosé 2022
A beautiful Summer Rosé to enjoy all year round
A beautiful Summer Rosé to enjoy all year round
Description
- Dry style
- Peach & apple
- Florals
- Refreshing
Enticing bouquet of peach, red apple, and floral characters. The palate shows notes of pear and ripe red berries, with a crisp and refreshing mineral finish.
Journey into the wildflowers, a secret world between the vines, where insects dance from petal to stem, a flourishing ecosystem amongst the rows. It’s all part of the bigger picture to protect our vines and keep pests away naturally. So as you’re busy enjoying this wine, remember our little friends between the flowers who help us to do things both differently, and beautifully.
Vintage 2022 was an exciting classic Marlborough harvest. A warm Spring secured good fruit set throughout the region. Hawkes Bay had a warm, early spring with minimal frosts with a warm summer. The cool crisp nights and warm days in March retained vibrant acidity while allowing flavours to develop fully. A slow and steady ripening resulted in a Rosé with lifted aromatics and concentrated mouthfeel.
The parcels of fruit that created this Rosé were individually harvested at optimal ripeness. The fruit was destemmed, briefly soaked, and then gently pressed. The juice was cold settled for 48 hours then racked prior to a long cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks to capture bright, fresh fruit characters. Each parcel was fermented separately with a range of yeasts to build complexity and structure. Following fermentation, the wine was blended, stabilised and filtered prior to bottling.
Food Pairing: Beautiful with goat’s cheese, light summer salads, shellfish.
