Pencarrow Martinborough Sauvignon Blanc 2017
Good depth & intensity
Good depth & intensity
Description
Dry
Brilliant light straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, paler on the rim. The nose is softly full and voluminous with fresh, fragrant aromas of ripe passionfruit and tropical fruit with lifted exotic florals, fresh herbs and subtle cooler-spectrum nettle nuances. This has good depth, intensity and is well-proportioned. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is taut and tightly concentrated with elegantly presented flavours of pungent passionfruit, tropical fruits, florals, herbs and nettles. The mouthfeel is refreshing with soft, thirst-quenching phenolic textures, and balanced, racy acidity lending crispness and drive. The wine carries with zest and energy to a brisk finish. This is a taut, elegantly concentrated Sauvignon Blanc with passionfruit, floral, herbal and nettle flavours on a mouthwatering, dry palate with plenty of energy.
Fruit was sourced from the ‘Palliser’, ‘Clouston’, ‘Collins’ and ‘East Base’ vineyards before being fermented in stainless-steel to 4 g/L RS, the wine aged 4 months
on lees.
Food Pairing: Serve with Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years.
