Paul Jaboulet Aîné Parallèle 45 Rouge Côtes Du Rhône 2022 (France)
A delicious Côtes du Rhône with supple tannins
A delicious Côtes du Rhône with supple tannins
Description
Floral, Raspberry, Strawberry
Deep garnet-red colour. The nose is expressive and rich with aromas of ripe red fruit (strawberry, raspberry) combined with floral and spicy notes. On the palate, this Côtes du Rhône has a fresh, delicious attack with good balance and supple tannins. Notes of red fruit carry through to the finish.
Parallèle 45 is named after the famous latitude where great wines are born worldwide. It spans across France and passes over the cellars of Maison Paul Jaboulet Aîné.
Mention the Rhône Valley to anyone around the world and a small chapel perched upon a vine clad hill is likely to be one of the first images that springs to mind. Not only is the image romantic, it is so closely associated with being one of the best Syrahs in the world, it evokes a myriad of emotions – admiration, respect, envy and desire. Winemakers around the globe aspire to make Syrahs of this complexity and intensity, such is the reverence in which it is held. La Chapelle in Hermitage is one of the finest and most iconic vineyards in the world. It belongs to Paul Jaboulet Aîné.
Hand-picked at maturity. The mixed grape varieties are co-fermented with the grenache to fix the colour and the tannins. Syrah is vinified separately with maceration and soft extraction that last about 3 weeks. Aged for 6 months in stainless steel vats and truncated cone-shaped vats on fine lees.
