Vibrant light gold with accents of lime. A soft nose with hints of butterscotch, peach, toasty oak, stone fruit and pink grapefruit combine to deliver a lingering finish.
A frost free spring leading into a warm and dry summer kicked off the 2018 ripening season. Humidity needed to be monitored closely. A vintage which required good management was well rewarded.
Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay was hand picked early March. A combination of Clone 6, Mendoza and Clone 15 fruit. 50% was fermented in two and three year old barrels and the balance aged in tank on lees for 12 months.
