Description
Blueberry, Hazelnut, Oak
"It's gorgeously ripe and perfumed with Black Doris plum, blueberry, violet, clove and hazelnut aromas on the nose, followed by a succulent palate that's silky and fleshy. The wine offers splendid fruit purity combined with spicy nuances, finishing persistent and supple. At its best: now to 2030" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
"Dense, vibrant syrah with cacao powder, cassis/blackberry, liquorice, red-fleshed plum, black pepper and spicy oak flavours with a suggestion of vanilla bean. Good cellaring potential. Firmly structured wine with a lingering finish" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review
"Distinctive, fresh, youthful, spicy and dark fruited bouquet. Aromas and flavours of baked black currant and clove, dark plum and vanilla, wood smoke and a touch of boot polish. Firmly textured on the palate with an abundance of tannins and acidity over-delivering on mouthfeel yet contrasted by the core of fruit. Well made, youthful still with best drinking from late 2022 through 2026+" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier
Lifted floral and violet flower. Rich, expressive and elegantly structured Syrah, harvested from a low yielding single vineyard. Lifted floral and violet aromas balance a rich and complex palate of succulent dark fruits, complemented with fragrant cedar notes and white pepper spice. Beautifully structured and full bodied with a fine minerality on the finish.
A collection of OTU’s finest, available only in limited quantities, in selected vintages. Every so often our Chief Winemaker sees something standout; an outstanding vintage, an exceptional block of vines, expressive minerality, exquisite intensity of fruit – and chooses to capture its finesse. Small parcels, hand selected blocks & always hand crafted.
Very late harvest, very low yielding vineyard under organic treatment, manual harvest.
12 months in barrel with a distinct baroque style.
