Opawa Marlborough Pinot Gris 2016

Description

This wine is pale lemon in colour with fragrant aromas of fresh pears, citrus peel and spices. The palate displays white stonefruits along with subtle nutty characters, hints of citrus and a crisp and refreshing finish. 

Made from grapes sourced from both Wairau and Awatere Valley vineyards, the fruit was harvested in the cool of the morning and pressed using a long slow cycle. A cool tank fermentation followed, using an aromatic yeast. After a short period on yeast lees the wine was clarified and filtered prior to bottling in August 2016.
