Description

Butter, Melon, Oak

A name synonymous with leadership in wine, Sir George Fistonich has a history of success but has always operated with an eye on the future. In 2021 Sir George, not content with retiring, founded Fistonich Family Vineyards to continue his love of viticulture, winemaking and developing future talent.

"A ripe and fruity, varietal and fresh expression of Chardonnay with aromas and flavours of sweet citrus and white peach, some vanilla and baking spice qualities and clay earthy suggestions. A dry wine with a core of stone fruits and citrus flavours laced with spice and some floral ideas. Best drinking from day of purchase through 2029" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Apr 2026

Rich and complex, with pronounced aromas of ripe stone fruits such as peach and hint of sautéed butter, touch of spice like clove or nutmeg. The palate is medium bodied and creamy, with a smooth, luxurious texture that expresses a balanced acidity that lifts the rich fruit flavors and provides a fresh, vibrant character. This Chardonnay showcases a harmonious balance of fruit, oak, and acidity, with the barrel fermentation adding layers of complexity and richness. It’s a well-structured wine with a luxurious mouthfeel and a crowd-pleasing finish.

Diverging from the straight and narrow, Obliix wines are made when the winemakerdecides to take the road less travelled. The end result is delicious and joyful wines.
