Description

Dry, Floral, Grapefruit

"Bright and youthful, varietal and very fresh with aromas and flavours of fresh pink and yellow apple, lemon peel and a definitive leesy complexity. Taut and youthful as the wine touches the palate with a saline acidity framing flavours of citrus and pith, lees and peel, white apricot and apple flavours. Ready to alongside food or best from 2029 through 2035+" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Jun 2026

Scale_-_Dry

Pale golden color. Complex nose of jasmine, honeysuckle and citrus. Palate follows through with pink grapefruit, apple and white stone fruit. Fruit concentrated structure with taut, right acidity and mandarin peel on the finish.

Overall, it was an excellent season in Central Otago with warm temperatures and very little rainfall. The warm and settled conditions throughout the season enabled excellent canopy growth. An early harvest was expected due to above average growing degree days but the cooler weather late in season was a welcome relief and resulted in a more normal picking window.

Handpicked fruit and pressed. 30% skin contact for 12h in the press. Cold settling  overnight to then start cool temperature fermentation (15°C) for stainless steel portion. Par.al fermentation in old french barriques. Controlled level of sugar of 4 g/L to balance the strong acidity specific to the Central Otago region. No fining. 8 months on lies before blending and bottling.
