Description
- French oak
- Ripe stone fruit
- Complex
- Full-bodied
"An elegant, complex bouquet with aromas of fresh peach and apple flesh, baked brazil nut and vanilla spice. There’s a mix of fine lees and new wood scents adding breadth and additional complexity. A fine satin texture touches the palate first then a rush of fruit and wood spice. After 1 minute in glass the flavours transition to quince and grapefruit with layers of soil, silty soil with fine grained tannins, a whisper of mandarin peel and medium+ acidity. Balanced and well made with a lengthy finish. Best drinking from 2023 through 2029" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Nov 2022
Pale green/gold. A rich, complex Martinborough Chardonnay showing intense ripe stone fruit flavours underpinned by subtle oak and barrel fermentation characters. Will improve in the cellar for 3-5 years.
100% barrel fermented - tight-grain French oak barriques (20% new). All barrels lees-stirred monthly. Total time in barrel - 10 months.
Food Pairing: Perfectly suited to any lamb or white meat dish and will easily handle richer or creamier dishes as it has the fruit weight and texture to cut through the richness and complement those flavours.
