Description
- Unoaked
- Peach
- Rockmelon
- Creamy
"Fruit forward and inviting, the wine shows yellow peach, rockmelon, pineapple and lemon peel aromas on the nose, followed by an elegantly weighted palate displaying bright fruit flavours and creamy mouthfeel. Friendly and so easy to enjoy" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Nov 2020
This Mystery Unoaked Chardonnay is inviting on the nose with gentle floral notes and hints of honey dew melon. The palate has ripe generous entry with an appealing creaminess leaving a gorgeous textured palate.
Traditionally Chardonnay is made in an oaked style, however we are often asked: what does Chardonnay as a grape variety with no oak ageing taste like? This is it! The fruit for this wine came into the winery in perfect condition. The grapes were pressed, and the juice was fermented in stainless steel tanks to capture the natural tropical fruit characters of the grape variety, without influence from oak. The wine has undergone partial maloactic fermentation to soften natural acidity before being stabilised and bottled in September 2020.
