Blueberry, Oak, Spice
Black Market Mystery Wines™ are simply wines we love, with the branding hidden and revealed only when it arrives at your door!
"It's wonderfully complex and enticing on the nose, showing dark berry, dried herb, cured meat, earthy mushroom, and roasted nut aromas. The palate displays plush texture and finely infused tannins, finishing splendidly long and satisfying. At its best: now to 2028" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
"Excellent bouquet of ripe red berry fruits, boysenberry and dark-skinned cherry, there’s a definitive soil quality suggesting stone and brown clay, then scents of wood spice and clove emerge. Dry on the palate with a decent weight and tension, firm structure with an abundance of tannins and acidity needing to settle into the whole of the wine more. Core fruit flavours have power and impact and will last the distance with cellar time ahead. Lengthy with persistent flavours and textures. Best drinking from 2027 through 3034+" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier
Its dark garnet core transitions to a thin, purple-tinged rim, creating an alluring, luminous appearance. The bouquet is a harmonious blend of elegant red and dark berry fruits, complemented by subtle, soft oak notes. On the palate, rich dark fruit flavours take center stage, accompanied by layers of spice, black coffee, blueberries, and blackberries. Dried fruit notes, including cranberry, blueberry, and black cherry, are highlighted by a hint of olive brine, adding complexity. The mid-palate is full and rounded, with a silky tannin structure that leads to a long, captivating finish. Spices, toasty nuances, and savoury elements mingle with the vibrant freshness that elevates the fruit, creating a wine of extraordinary length, complexity, and balance.
Our winemaker believes that exceptional Pinot Noir lies in the purity of its fruit and the balance of its acidity, providing the wine with its structure and elegance. This wine is a testament to that philosophy, showcasing natural acidity and remarkable poise.
Food Pairing: It’s very enjoyable on its own but is also tremendously food friendly. This pinot noir pairs well with white and red meats, duck, Parma ham, grilled line fish, tuna, wild mushrooms and traditional cheeses. Enjoy now, or cellar for up to 8 years.
