Description
- Dry style
- Apple & pear
- Honeysuckle
- Refreshing finish
"It's delicately fragrant on the nose, showing apricot, rockmelon, poached pear and subtle spice aromas. The palate delivers juicy fruit intensity with supple texture and finely pitched acidity, finishing lingering and refreshing. Beautifully styled with finesse and poise" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
An attractive nose of ripe peach, nashi pear, red apple, honeysuckle and just a hint of white flowers. The palate is where the wine really shines; beautifully balanced, rich, full and textured, with a crisp, refreshing finish.
This Mystery Pinot Gris grapes are grown on two distinctly different sites. The Wairau River Valley; gravel rich, free draining and devigourating soil profile, giving citrus and apple flavours, fine acidity and amazing minerality.
The Northbank of the Wairau River, where the soil is a mixture of river stones and Kaituna clay, gives a much more exotic flavour profile – orange blossom, peach, Asian pear and honeysuckle.
The grapes were machine harvested in the cool of the night, cold settled and fermented 50% in stainless steel tanks and 50% in old oak barriques, left on its lees for 3 months, prior to blending and finishing for bottling in late spring.
