Mystery Marlborough Albariño 2023
Bright, clean, & refreshingly vibrant
Bright, clean, & refreshingly vibrant
Description
Dry, Floral, Nectarine
Black Market Mystery Wines™ are simply wines we love, with the branding hidden and revealed only when it arrives at your door! The wine opens with an elegant bouquet of white nectarine, crisp mandarin, and delicate perfumed blossom. On the palate, it is fresh and focused, offering a textured profile with vibrant flavours of apricot, stone fruit, citrus blossom, and mandarin. These flavours are carried through to a persistent finish, enhanced by a subtle salty phenolic texture. The style is bright, clean, and refreshingly vibrant, with a crisp and precise mouthfeel that showcases excellent balance. This wine can be enjoyed now or cellared for 3 to 5 years to further develop its complexity.

Grown in the cool climate of the Awatere Valley, our Albariño was harvested during the brisk evening hours to preserve its vibrant freshness. Upon arrival at the winery, the fruit was promptly pressed. The later press-fraction was set aside and fermented in seasoned barriques, while the gently pressed free-run juice underwent fermentation in a combination of 68% stainless steel tanks and 32% seasoned French barriques. The separated parcels were carefully reintegrated into the final blend, creating a wine of exceptional balance. No further adjustments or fining were necessary before bottling, allowing the wine’s purity and character to shine through.
Food Pairing: This wine is an ideal accompaniment to seafood dishes.
