Cherry, Oak, Spice
Black Market Mystery Wines™ are simply wines we love, with the branding hidden and revealed only when it arrives at your door!"This is wonderfully maturing with seductive dried cherry, elegant oak, game, dried herb and potpourri aromas on the nose, followed by a concentrated yet refined palate displaying multi-layered mouthfeel and graceful texture. Expansive and silky with an impressively long savoury finish. At its best: now to 2025" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Nov 2021
"Light-bodied, soft and supple Pinot Noir with gentle raspberry and fresh cherry flavours plus a hint of spicy oak. Pure, accessible and appealing wine. Simple and distinctive" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Sep 2019
"The 2016 vintage (4.5*) is a refined, single-vineyard wine from Lowburn, in the Cromwell Basin. Hand-harvested, fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured in French oak casks (33 per cent new), it is bright ruby, fresh and youthful, in a medium-bodied style with cherry, plum, spice and nut flavours, showing good complexity, finely balanced tannins, and obvious potential. Best drinking 2021+" Michael Cooper, Buyer's Guide 2021
Crafted in Cromwell, Central Otago, from a single vineyard site. This Pinot Noir is plush, fruity and complex with a strong undercurrent of toasty oak.
Food Pairing: This wine is drinking well now and would pair beautifully with any roasted red meats or a well prepared steak with mushroom sauce.
