Description

Dry, Melon, Strawberry

“Vibrant and expressive, with strawberries and cream, ripe blood orange and rose florals. The palate echoes the nose, with a silky mid-weight texture and fresh acidity balancing the lower residual sugar for a beautifully balanced finish" Greg Lane, Winemaker

Scale_-_Dry

Light and fragrant, with notes of rose, watermelon, and fresh strawberries. Juicy and vibrant on the palate, showing ruby grapefruit and red berries with a touch of sweetness on the long, refreshing finish. Perfect for sunny sipping. Roaring Meg Pinot Noir Rosé is at its best within two years of release.

The grapes for this wine come from our Cromwell Basin vineyards managed by our dedicated viticultural team.

2026 was one of Central Otago’s coolest and latest seasons in years. A late budburst and mild summer slowed ripening, while dry, low wind conditions kept berry size in check. Warmth finally arrived in March, with Bannockburn harvest beginning in early April, three weeks later than last season. The extended hang time built excellent flavour and colour at moderate sugar levels. A late frost on 23 April ended the season, but the fruit harvested was exceptional, with real potential for benchmark wines.

Picked at the end of March and early April. Machine harvested in the early morning, the grapes were pressed quickly off skins to minimize colour and phenolic extraction. A range of aromatic yeasts were used to highlight the varietal vibrancy of early picked Pinot Noir. Blended and bottled straight after vintage to catch that freshness.
