Opulent mouthfeel backed by bright acidity, finishing wonderfully long
Wine Orbit
Description
- Dry style
- Lychee & apricot
- Mixed spice
- Bright acidity
"Complex and beautifully perfumed on the nose with lychee, orange peel, apricot and mixed spice aromas with a hint of savoury nuance. The concentrated palate delivers fleshy texture and opulent mouthfeel backed by bright acidity, finishing wonderfully long and flavoursome. At its best: now to 2026" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jan 2022
The Gewürztraminer from Fareham Lane was the first fruit picked for the 2021 season. 2.52T was hand harvested on the 1st of March 2021 – it was beautifully ripe as the fruit set was perfect & consistently even. The fruit was lightly pressed with only the free run juice being retained and fermented in our signature acacia puncheons for seven months (on it’s own yeast lees) before being gently racked and prepared for bottling on the 22nd of December 2021. Only 1362 bottles produced.
Maker’s Cut is identified by our winemakers in the vineyard and worthy to stand alone. There are no limits to this wine, other than it’s made exclusively in small quantities, making it rare, to be enjoyed by a lucky few. The inaugural release is the first time we have produced a spectacular Gewürztraminer from our Fareham Lane Vineyard as the fruit was simply to good to ignore.
