Description
Oak, Peach, Vanilla
"Beautifully composed and styled, the wine shows ripe nectarine, green rockmelon, subtle vanilla, and roasted hazelnut aromas. The palate displays excellent weight and creamy flow, splendidly supported by finely integrated acidity, making it fabulously drinkable. At its best: now to 2029" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, May 2025
"Fleshy, ripe and fruity with layers of yellow stone fruit and barrel flavours. Lees and wood smoke add breadth and depth across the palate framed by a youthful acid line. Just shy of full-bodied with a satin cream texture, balanced and judicious use of oak, textured and lengthy. Best drinking from late 2025 through 2029+" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier
"Delicious, fruity and well-composed, showing apples, sweet spices and a touch of crackers. Medium-bodied with fresh acidity. Precise and bright with some lemon character in the finish. Sustainable. Drink or hold" James Suckling, Jamessuckling.com
Our Landmark Series is a nod to classic winemaking traditions -sprinkled with Misty’s distinctive edge. Handcrafted in small batches from our Fareham Lane vineyard, this Chardonnay captures the very essence of the land it hails from.
The 2024 vintage delivered exceptional conditions across Marlborough, with a cool, dry spring reducing yields and a long, warm summer allowing for slow, even ripening. This resulted in beautifully concentrated fruit with bright natural acidity. Aromas of apricot, lemon peel, and toasted oatmeal lead into a refined, rounded palate layered with ripe pear, subtle roasted almond, and a line of acidity that drives a persistent, focused finish. It’s an expressive, elegant Chardonnay and is best enjoyed with great company.
Crafted from a blend of clones 95 and Mendoza, the fruit was carefully harvested in the cool of the morning to preserve its delicate flavours and natural acidity. After harvest, the grapes were gently pressed, and the juice was then fermented and aged for eight months in a mix of 25% new and 75% older French oak barriques. By carefully managing malolactic fermentation, we have created an elegantly textured Chardonnay with beautiful balance and a long, pure finish.
Food Pairing: With its round palate and lively acidity, this wine is a versatile partner for various dishes. Its bright notes complement buttery crayfish (lobster) tails, seared scallops, and flaky pan-fried halibut. It will also pair wonderfully with creamy pasta dishes such as fettuccine Alfredo or a rich clam and bacon risotto.
