Description
Dry, Floral, Peach
"Beautifully fruited and elegantly expressed, showing nectarine, Gala apple, fig and lemon zest aromas on the nose. The palate displays fine focus and juicy fruit intensity, brilliantly framed by refreshing acidity, making it delightfully drinkable. At its best: now to 2028" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Aug 2024

"Lovely aromatics and palate with a varietal lift showcasing fresh apple and white spice, some peach and salinity. There’s a mineral quality that emerges on the palate as the wine opens out then showcases stone fruits and citrus then white flowers and some lees textures. Balanced and well made, youthful, fresh and ready to drink from late 2024 through 2028" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier
Lush and aromatic, our Landmark Albariño opens with vibrant notes of white peach, nectarine, and citrus blossom, enticing the senses with its expressive bouquet. On the palate, it delivers a harmonious blend of creamy texture and lively acidity, showcasing layers of juicy mandarin, ripe apricot, and a hint of salinity, leading to a refreshing finish that is both crisp and elegantly mineral-driven—a true reflection of Gisborne’s coastal terroir.
Our Landmark Series is a nod to classic winemaking traditions -sprinkled with Misty’s distinctive edge. Handcrafted in small batches from the oldest planted Albariño vines in New Zealand, this wine captures the very essence of the land it hails from.
Fermentation occurred in 60% stainless steel, 20% new, and 20% older acacia puncheons. Special yeast enhanced the wine’s texture and highlighted its floral and varietal character. It aged on lees for four months to add depth and complexity—a touch of residual sugar balances the naturally high acidity, resulting in a beautifully harmonious wine.
Food Pairing: A classic ceviche or grilled octopus highlights the wine’s vibrant citrus notes, while a vegetable paella brings out its subtle floral undertones. For a more robust pairing, a rosemary and garlic-marinated lamb chop complements the wine’s nuanced minerality. Even a simple plate of burrata with heirloom tomatoes and basil will find a perfect partner in this expressive Albariño.
