This is a quintessential Marlborough Pinot Noir
Description
Almond, Cherry, Spice
"This immediately appeals to the nose, showing dark plum, sweet cherry, olive, and toasted almond characters. The palate offers succulent fruit flavours with spicy nuances, splendidly complemented by supple texture and finely integrated tannins, making it highly enjoyable. At its best: now to 2029" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, May 2025
"Very bright red ruby hues with a pink rim lead to a vibrant and fruity bouquet of raspberry, boysenberry and plums. Refreshing and new with a whole berry carbonic quality then berry flavours that reflect the bouquet. Fine fruit tannins and acidity add texture freshness to a youthful and vibrant palate. Best drinking from 205 through 2029+" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier
"Juicy and fruity, showing notes of red cherries, forest floor and baking spices. Medium-bodied with fine tannins. Succulent and racy with a fresh finish. Sustainable. Drink now" James Suckling, Jamessuckling.com
This is a quintessential Marlborough Pinot Noir—bright, juicy, and utterly delicious. Bursting with notes of ripe cherries, strawberries, and hints of plum, its soft, approachable tannins make it perfect for any time of year. Gather your loved ones and indulge in this fresh, unapologetic burst of fruitiness.
Misty Cove’s Estate Pinot Noir is an exquisite creation from our vineyards nestled in the upper Wairau Valley. The stony, ancient riverbed soils work their magic, giving birth to a wine that’s as bold as it is elegant, perfectly capturing Marlborough’s unique environment.
The 2024 vintage in Marlborough delivered exceptional conditions for Pinot Noir, with a warm, dry season allowing for extended ripening and outstanding fruit concentration. The fruit was hand-picked at optimal ripeness. Each parcel was then fermented in small, open-top fermenters and hand-plunged up to three times daily to ensure thorough tannin and color extraction from the skins. The wine was then gently pressed and aged in oak barriques for ten months, further enhancing its structure and complexity, before being bottled in early summer. The result is a Pinot Noir of remarkable balance, intensity, and elegance.
Food Pairing: This wine is a perfect companion to a variety of flavourful dishes, such as roasted duck, savoury mushroom risotto, grilled salmon, or your Sunday night lamb roast. It also shines as a crowd-pleaser for your al fresco summer lunches, beautifully complementing a charcuterie and cheese board.
