This complex Reserve Rosé is crafted in a dry style from premium Hawkes Bay grapes. It exudes lovely strawberry and raspberry flavours, complemented with subtle cherry spice and red currant notes. The palate is textural and full-bodied, yet delicate.

From a very warm, dry 2020 vintage, the grapes for this delightful Rosé were grown in the Maraekakaho District of Hawkes Bay on alluvial soils of the Riverview terraces, located on the lower reaches of the Ruahine foothills where they flank the Ngaruroro River.

Harvested over 3 separate days, on arrival at the winery, the grapes were crushed and immediately pressed off its skins to yield a delightfully pale blush juice that was cold-settled and lightly fined. After racking, the juice was transferred to an array of stainless steel tanks for fermentation with selected yeasts, which nurtured the vibrant fruit characters and structure of each parcel. At the completion of fermentation a rigorous blending trial was undertaken to determine the ideal proportions of each parcel in the final wine, to achieve optimum flavour profile and texture. To best preserve the wine’s fine structure and flavours, it was lightly fined, filtered, and then bottled on the 30th of June 2020 under screwcap closure.
