Approachable, full-flavoured & elegant
Description
- French & American oak
- Plum & blueberry
- Chocolate
- Generous weight
The McGuigan Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon is a soft and fruity wine featuring spiced fruit, plum and blueberry complimented by layers of chocolate and sweet spice. Soft and elegant with generous weight, good length of flavour and a sweet oak finish.
This approachable, full-flavoured wine derives from fruit sourced from premier vineyards in South Eastern Australia.
The climate in South Eastern Australia is hot with high evaporation rates and generally low rainfall, making irrigation essential. The climate is also continental, resulting in long sunny days and noticeably cooler nights. Modern viticulture and winemaking techniques mean that the climate can be seen as one of the regions strengths. Long sunshine hours ensure fruit ripens fully and low relative humidity results in little incidence of disease.
The fruit was crushed, destemmed and fermented on oak at cool temperatues for up to 7 days. Post fermentation the majority of the wine is matured in stainless steel tanks with a percentage of the wine transferred to French and American oak before being blended together into this generous, yet elegant red wine.
Food Pairing: Ideal partner for red meat dishes, especailly succulent roast dinners.
