"Richly fruited and seductively complex, the inviting bouquet reveals dark cherry, thyme, cured meat, dried mushroom, and toasted almond characters. The palate delivers excellent weight, a plump mouthfeel, and plush texture, beautifully framed by tannins that are wonderfully infused, resulting in a structured wine with a sustained, satisfying finish. The resulting wine is powerful and complex, and displays the velvet structure and sweet, plummy fruit typical of top Martinborough Pinot Noir. Cellared appropriately it should excellent drinking to 2031 and beyond.

Vines from our original plantings surrounding the winery, now in their 31st year, consistently produce our best quality fruit. A generally warm and bountiful year gave rise to ripe fruit flavours, but will b remembered for the second consecutive season when La Nena came to play. Regular autumn rain delayed harvest and necessitated careful fruit selection by our loyal crew.
