"A purple and ruby core with ruby pink rim leads to a bouquet of dark plums and blackberry, ripeness and smoky wood spices. A dry fruity wine touches the palate first with flavours of dark berries and plum expanding across the palate on the second and third sips. Firm tannins and plenty of acidity frame the core flavours leading to a youthful, textured and nicely lengthy finish. Well made and ready to enjoy with food. A classic example of Hawkes Bay Merlot Cabernet with an expressive aroma that is vibrant with notes of violets, wild blackberry, tobacco leaf, and spice. The palate is well structed with fine grained tannins, mouth filling, voluptuous red and black fruits, combined with undertones of herbal and cedary notes.
