Description
Oak, Smoke, Spice
"Complex and savoury, the wine shows dark berry, dried herb, smoky bacon and nutmeg aromas, followed by a finely textured palate delivering excellent weight and grainy tannins. Structured and sturdy, making it a wonderful partner to rich savoury dishes. At its best: now to 2030" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jul 2023
"A classic bouquet filled with scents of ripe and sour red berry fruits, some spice and dried herb layers with moderate oak impacts. The best action comes on the palate with flavours of fresh cherry and baking spice of soil and a touch of barrel the sour fruits with combined with firm tannins and plenty of acidity to deliver a squeeze, tension and power. Well made, developing and ready to drink from 2023 through 2027. I feel like food would enhance the flavours and textures of this example" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Jul 2023
Purple-red in colour, and clear. On the nose, ripe fruit hints are ennobled by gentle spices. On the palate, it is full-structured. Agreeable finish, with a long lasting aftertaste.
Fermentation occurs in steel tanks for 12-14 days, at a controlled temperature of 28/29°C. Frequent pumping over encourage the release of the colouring substances and the polyphenolic components. Ageing takes place in French oak casks for 10 months.
